The Rotorua Trails Trust (RTT) manages and maintains one of New Zealand’s most iconic trail networks. They work with local councils, iwi, the community, stakeholders and volunteers to keep the trails safe, accessible, and world-class for riders, runners, and explorers alike.

The Rotorua Mountain Bike Club (RMBC) is at the heart of Rotorua's mountain biking scene. Established to promote and develop mountain biking in the region, the club plays a pivotal role in organizing events, supporting trail maintenance, and nurturing riders of all ages and skill levels.

Key Activities and Events:
​
Triple Crown Enduro: A challenging multi-stage race that tests riders' endurance and skill.
Wednesday Night Lights: A social evening ride series that brings the community together midweek.
Low Key Super D: A relaxed downhill event focusing on fun and participation.
Monthly Club Missions: Regular riding challenges encouraging members to explore new trails and push their limits.
Low Key Jr: An initiative aimed at introducing younger riders to the sport in a supportive environment.
NZ Downhill Series (NZDH): A series of downhill races showcasing the best local talent.
Ladies Summer Shuttles: A women-focused event offering shuttle rides to popular trails, promoting inclusivity and community.
Mountain Bikers Ball: An annual social event celebrating the mountain biking community.
Dirt Church: A family-friendly ride encouraging participation from all age groups.
First Response Unit (FRU): A volunteer group trained to provide emergency response during events and on trails.

Trail Advocacy and Maintenance:
While the Rotorua Trails Trust now oversees the majority of trail maintenance, the RMBC continues to be actively involved in advocating for trail development and supporting maintenance efforts. They collaborate with local authorities and organizations to ensure the trail network remains world-class and accessible to all riders.

The Hawke's Bay Mountain Bike Club has shown what true community spirit looks like. When Cyclone Gabrielle devastated the region in 2023, wiping out beloved trails and infrastructure, the club didn't just mourn what was lost—they rolled up their sleeves and rebuilt it all, stronger than before.
​
From organizing massive trail reconstruction efforts to keeping riders connected during the toughest times, HBMTBC has proven that a strong community can weather any storm. They continue to maintain and develop the region's trail network, run events, and support riders of all ages and abilities.
​
Limited Edition Rebuild Tee:
In collaboration with HBMTBC, we created a limited run of just 50 exclusive tees celebrating the grit and determination that kept Hawke's Bay riding through the rebuild. With artwork inspired by classic craft beer labels and premium AS Colour construction, this tee tells the story of a community that refused to stay down.

Every shirt sold contributes ALL PROFITS directly to the club's trail building fund—no gimmicks, just real support for real work.

Loamer is founded by people like you who just love a good loamer. We are trail builders, volunteers, and fundraisers who've worked with councils, clubs, and conservation groups across New Zealand.

We know the challenges because we live them every day.
​
And to be honest, we get a bit sick of good intentioned folks giving us another complicated idea about what we NEED to do to fund the trails. We're a bit busy over here already!
​
